Insomniac is done with Resistance franchise

Insomniac CEO Ted Price stated that the company is done with the Resistance franchise. ”We won’t be making any more Resistances,” Price told VG247 in an interview at Southern Methodist University’s Game::Business::Law Summit.

However, Sony owns the rights to the Resistance franchise. Two Resistance games have already been made by studio’s other than Insomniac. Resistance: Retribution for the PSP was developed by Sony Bend. Resistance: Burning Skies, an upcoming PlayStation Vita title, is currently underdevelopment by Nihilistic Studio.

Insomnia Games is currently working on their first multiplatform game, Overstrike. The four player co-op shooter is scheduled to release on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. An official release date for the project has yet to be revealed.
