If you’ve attempted to log onto the PlayStation Network lately but to no avail, Sony has explained the situation. For users in both the United States and Europe, the service is “down for maintenance.”

The issues arose yesterday and have yet to be resolved. A thread has started on the US PlayStation Blog Forums with the usual flurry of complaints, but the thread will be updated when there is more news. In Europe, the interruption is affecting several services including Qriocity, PS Store, and Account Management.
